A dining room table that feels dated can be renewed. A piece that is structurally sound and only looks its age is exactly what architectural film is for — we re-skin the surface in oak, walnut, honed stone, brushed metal or a deep solid, in situ, for up to 70% less than replacing the same piece.

Freestanding furniture, built-in joinery and the large appliances standing among them — fridges, freezers and dishwasher fronts take the same film, so a mismatched appliance becomes part of the design instead of the exception to it. The shape you chose, the size that fits the room and the joinery built for that wall all stay exactly as they are.

Furniture & appliance ideas

Five pieces worth renewing rather than replacing.

Each one starts the same way: a sound piece, a tired finish, and a film chosen against your own light rather than a showroom bulb.

01

The Dated Dining Table

The flagship case. A table that seats your family perfectly and simply looks its age — renewed in a warm oak or walnut grain, a honed stone, or a deep matte solid. The top, the edge profile and the visible returns are wrapped together, so the piece reads as one material rather than a refinished surface.

02

The Desk That Means Business

Home-office desks, built-in work surfaces and study joinery, brought onto one finish. A fine-line timber for warmth, a hairline metal for a study that means it, or a soft matte solid that stops a screen glaring back at you. Wipe-clean, and it takes the daily traffic a work surface actually gets.

03

The Sideboard or Console

The piece guests look at while they wait for dinner. Drawer and door fronts in brushed brass, blackened steel, a linen weave or a bold solid, with the carcass held in a quieter tone — a statement front made from the sideboard you already own, not one you had to source.

04

The TV Unit & Built-Ins

Media walls, floating units and the joinery either side of them, wrapped in one continuous finish so the wall reads as a single considered piece instead of three eras of furniture. Cable cut-outs, returns and open shelving are finished to the same standard as the faces.

05

The Headboard & Bedroom Pieces

Headboards, dressing tables and bedside joinery in textile and leather-effect films — the softness of upholstery in a finish you can wipe down, which upholstery cannot be. It is the quickest way to pull a bedroom that grew piece by piece back into one palette.

06

The Fridge & Large Appliances

Fridges, freezers, dishwasher fronts and other large appliances take architectural film beautifully — matched to the joinery around them so everything reads as one design, or wrapped as a deliberate statement piece. It is the fastest way to bring an appliance that still works perfectly into a room that has just been transformed around it.

How it works

What film does on a piece of furniture.

Architectural film bonds to the piece and takes on its shape. That includes the parts a sheet material could never follow: curved fronts, profiled and bullnose edges, returns, corner posts and cable cut-outs, all wrapped and finished rather than trimmed short. It is why a wrapped table reads as one material instead of a top with a different edge — the face and the edge are the same film.

Every piece is assessed at the measure-up. The substrate has to be sound and flat enough for film to bond to it, and that is a judgement made with the piece in front of us, not over the phone. Where a top is failing, lifting or beyond what a finish can carry, we tell you before you spend rather than after — film is a finish, not a structural repair.

Then the choice gets settled. We bring the film houses’ sample books to you, so the grain, the sheen and the embossed texture are judged in the room the piece lives in. The exact film reference is named against each element on your written, itemised quote — and again on your invoice and the roll label on install day, so what you approved is verifiably what went on.

Good questions

What owners ask before we wrap a piece.

Can a dining table really be wrapped?

Yes — where the top is sound and flat enough for film to bond to it. That is the whole test, and it is settled at the measure-up rather than over the phone: we look at the top, the edge profile and the condition of the surface, and tell you plainly what we would do and what we would not. Where a piece should not be wrapped, you hear it before you spend, not after. Honest counsel on how to live with a wrapped table comes with the quote.

Will a wrapped table top handle hot plates and spills?

With the same sense any fine table asks for. Put a trivet or a mat where hot things land and a board under anything sharp; spills wipe away with a damp cloth and a mild household cleaner, and no abrasive pads or scouring creams. These are premium architectural films, warrantied by their manufacturers against cracking, peeling and fade for up to 10 years — and where a specification matters for your top, the manufacturer's data sheet for that film has the last word and is available on request.

If one section is damaged later, can that section alone be redone?

Yes — it is one of the quiet advantages of wrapping. Furniture is wrapped element by element: a top, a door front, a drawer face, a return. If one of them takes a knock, that element alone is re-wrapped, without touching the rest of the piece and without the piece leaving the room. Our guide, One Panel, Not the Whole Kitchen, explains the same logic across a whole room.

Can you wrap fridges and other large appliances?

Yes.

Do you collect the piece, or work at my home?

Wrapping is done in situ — the piece stays where it is, in your home or your premises, and the work is clean and quiet with floors and surrounding surfaces protected before a blade comes out. The practical arrangement for your particular piece, including where it stands while we work, is agreed with you at the survey rather than assumed here.

Is wrapping a piece worth it against simply buying new?

Wrapping the same surfaces typically costs up to 70% less than replacing them, and most furniture is finished in days rather than weeks. The stronger argument is the piece itself: it is already the right size for the room, it is already built to a standard you would have to pay for again, and nothing goes to the rubbish dump. The piece you keep is the piece that fits your room.
