Make Every Dinner Feel
Like an Occasion.

A dining room has a captive audience, but are they captivated? For two hours nobody is looking at a screen — they are looking past the candles at your panelling, and at whatever is behind the head of the table.

Wrapt Interiors™ re-skins that wall, the wainscoting, the server and the table itself in premium architectural film from the world's leading film brands — marble, oak, walnut or a deep matte solid, applied in situ over the surfaces you already have.

Ideas by room

Six ways a dining room gets its evening back.

Every one of these is a finish change, not a building change — the room stays in use, and dinner is served in it the same week.

01

Wainscoting, Warmed Up

Classic box moulding across the lower wall, with a richer film set inside each box — a warm oak, a walnut, or a deep solid — and the upper wall kept light above it. Film wraps the panel faces, the moulding returns and the capping rail, so the boxes read as one material rather than a colour brushed over joinery. It is the proportion of a period dining room, taken in a single week.

02

The Table Surround

A framed two-tone treatment that lifts the dining area out of an open-plan room: a soft neutral film as the outer frame, a deeper contrasting insert inside it, sized to the table and the pendant above it. The frame tells the eye where dinner happens even where no wall divides the space — and it is drawn in finish rather than built in brickwork.

03

The Formal Feature Wall

One wall, behind the head of the table, in deep-veined marble or a dark timber. It is the surface every guest faces for the whole evening, so it earns the boldest finish in the house. Because it is architectural film, it goes on in situ over the wall you already have — no slab, no templating, no tear-out, and up to 70% less than replacing the same surface in the material it imitates.

04

The Serving Wall

Built-in servers, sideboard joinery and the panelling around them, wrapped to match the feature wall or set deliberately against it. Doors, drawer fronts, visible ends and plinths take the same film as the walls, so the serving side of the room reads as architecture rather than as an afterthought parked against it.

05

The Table Itself, Renewed

A dining table that has dated — a tired top, a colour that belonged to another decade — is renewed in the same film as the room: a warm timber, a marble, or a deep solid under the pendant. Film performs well on furniture, and sensible care keeps it that way: a runner or placemats where hot dishes land, a board for anything sharp, a damp cloth and a mild cleaner. Every piece is assessed on its own at the measure-up.

06

Sheen, Chosen for Candlelight

Dining rooms are lit low: candles, a pendant, a dimmer at half. Matte swallows that light and hides handling around chair backs and door edges. Satin and gloss throw the room back at itself and make a small dining room read larger, at the cost of showing more. We bring both to the measure-up and hold them under your own fittings — after dark, if that is when the room is used.

The families

Which finishes suit a room you eat in.

Four of the film families do most of the work in a dining room. They behave differently under low light, and they behave differently at chair-back height.

01

Wood & Natural

Oak, walnut, teak and ash. In the embossed ranges the film carries the grain as texture rather than as a printed picture, so panelling and box moulding read as timber under the hand as well as the eye.

02

Stone & Mineral

Statuary whites, deep-veined marbles, honed granite and poured concrete — the pattern, the sheen and, in the embossed ranges, the texture. The family that does its most convincing work on a feature wall behind the table.

03

Solid Colour

Deep inks, charcoals, greens, greys and warm creams in matte, satin, gloss or soft-touch. The cleanest way to change the colour of a dining room in one uninterrupted tone — no visible joints, no spray booth, no paint fumes in an occupied house.

04

Textile & Leather

Linen weaves, fabric grains and suede effects give a dining wall the warmth of upholstery — on a surface that can still be wiped clean afterwards, which upholstery cannot be.

Good questions

What owners ask about dining rooms.

Is a wrapped wall practical in a room where people eat?

Yes — that is what architectural film is engineered for. Chair-back scuffs at rail height, a splash from a served dish, a wine ring on the panelling above the server: all of it comes off with a damp cloth and a mild household cleaner, no abrasive pads or scouring creams. The films are warrantied by their manufacturers against cracking, peeling and fade for up to 10 years. Where one spot in your room takes real punishment, we give you the honest expectation for that surface at the survey, before you spend.

Can the panelling be two colours?

It usually should be. The two-tone logic is what makes wainscoting work: a lighter film or paint above the rail, a deeper film inside the boxes below it, and the moulding itself either matched or set against both. Film pairs with film, and film pairs perfectly well with paint — so you can wrap the lower wall and the built-ins and leave the upper wall as it is. We set the pairing against your room at the measure-up.

Do you make the wainscoting boxes, or only wrap them?

The wrapping is ours, and new wainscot boxes are built by trusted partners we work with. Wrapt Interiors™ installs architectural film over the panelling, moulding and built-in joinery that is already there — and where the boxes do not exist yet, we arrange the carpentry through our partners and finish everything once it is up. It is a very common order of work, and the result is better than wrapping a flat wall and trying to add relief afterwards.

How is the finish chosen for a room we mostly use in the evening?

In the room, in its own light. We bring the film brands’ sample books to the measure-up and hold the candidates against your walls, your table and your existing joinery — and in a dining room the evening light is the one that decides it, so we look at the samples under your own fittings, dimmed the way you actually sit. A screen will lie to you about colour and sheen; your own pendant will not. The visit ends with the choice settled, and the written estimate follows.
